Mets @ Braves: Game 2
New York Mets at Atlanta Braves, May 20, 2008 7:05 PM EDT
Nice to see Tom Glavine beat his old team (that sounds weird) and get today's double-header started off right. Hopefully the rain will hold off tonight and we can get the second game in without any trouble.
In game two we get to see how Jorge Campillo handles starting in the major leagues.
His last major league start was on August 2nd, 2005 for the Mariners against the Tigers in which he lasted one inning before leaving with an injured elbow. He's been pretty good so far this year, and we certainly don't need any more injuries, so here's to hoping Jorge stays healthy and pitches productively.

Remember Oscar Villarreal's spot start that one year?
5.0 IP, 1H, 0ER, 1BB, 4K.
Lofty goals for the 08 Oscar to attempt. But whatever, we must protect this house.

Campillo - Villareal
I do remember, and I hope Campillo can do the same. For what we’ve been hearing, he’s going to ROCK the house. Screw Santana, Wright, and Reyes. We GOT this.

This weekend...
...it was said that Campillo is looking to throw around 75 pitches, so there’s a pretty good chance Bennett comes it afterwards. After that we got Resop, Ring, and Stockman who did not pitch this afternoon.
Could be interesting. I hope for our sake the offense pounds Vargas early and often.

I was just trying to think...
of a latin prayer to Pujols…
you know…In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen
In the name of the father, the son, the holy spirit. amen.
So who is the father and son of baseball? I was thinking the holy spirit we’d say home run. “domus curro(?)” I don’t have very good Latin.

I think he needed a sit down.
Let’s be honest, he ain’t beating the Streak. So he should get used to taking a day off every once in awhile. Better for him to stay healthy. Plus he’s stinking right now. That’s not helping.

...I got a little too immersed in BioShock and when I checked to see if the rain delay was over it was already 4-0. Regardless, The Rev looked fucking locked in. Very impressive display. And Mark Kotzay certainly capped the night.
I havn’t felt this good since the last time the Braves took two straight from the Mets.

totally
i knew when i got home late it would still be on, so that was awesome, got to turn it on in the 8th… It was a nice surprise to miss the games (most of them) and not have heartburn later on.
And, I have to say, Killa keeps getting it done. He’s a great acquisition. And he saw ONE PITCH!!!!!!!!!! One pitch tonight, and he JACKED it. Oh man that was classic.
