Braves Demote James, Promote Stockman: Official Press Release with Facts and Links

Well one of the rumors floating around, via Buster Olney’s latest blog is that we’re keeping tabs on Freddie Garcia’s rehab.

We have Huddy, Jair and Tommy all doing as expected or better. I’d say that’s a fine top of the rotation at this point, though it’d be nice if we could slot someone else up there behind Hudson and maybe Jurrjens. For the other two spots, we have Reyes and a bunch of guesswork. They could let Bennett slip back into the rotation (which would be made possible by the promotion for Stockman), give Campillo a try there or call up Charlie Morton earlier than expected. They could even push the Pads to deal Maddux now or look at other trade possibilities. I’m not too worried about it, as long as they continue to make smart moves like dropping James for Stockman.
