THE Kotsay shirts
Read this first: DO NOT PURCHASE YET
They aren't final yet. It was easier to do this than to upload them to my own server. If you do purchase these shirts, do so at your own risk. Because I'm suggesting a change right now, and if you purchase one of these shirts right now, it'll be like getting an Orioles jersey that says "RIPKEN #7".
SO DO NOT PURCHASE THESE YET THEY ARE VIEWING ONLY
(the URL if you can't click the bigass text: http://www.cafepress.com/royhobbs)
Just thought I'd get all that out of the way.
So what we have here are the Jamie K. shirts some of us have been discussing. CafePress, because this way, nobody has to dedicate to pre-paying for a shirt that they may not get if a snafu occurs. Only the people who want them, can purchase them. Ideally, all the dudes on the board would buy one, and when we one day have a meet-up day, nothing will signify solidarity like these.
The prices listed are 0% marked up. There is no profit in this venture, so the cost of the shirts are approximately the cost of the printing. They're higher than what you might expect from CafePress, because of the printing on both sides.
The colors (name/number) are also official colors - I pulled them from the Braves logo that I ripped from the MLB Pressbox website. I've also limited the colors available for the shirts, because 1. I'm too lazy to make alternate versions for all the colors, and 2. If we ever do meet up, too many colors leads to too much confusion, and a lack of solidarity. So for the time being, it's just home white, and road gray.
I'm suggesting a change - Yeah, Mark Kotsay wears #11 on the Braves, but since the picture is a shopp'ed up image of Kotsay's Oakland jersey, I'm suggesting changing the shirt to read "J. KOTSAY #21." Nobody to my knowledge wears #21 on the 40-man roster, so it's as fair game as any to declare it to the superior Kotsay. And if some does have #21, screw them. This way, the back of the shirt will match the glorious front's glorious backside of the shirt.
Fellow Jamie K. fans - give me your feedback.
Girls - I'll make one for the girls, but y'all have to collectively agree upon one image, or else you all are going to be "Mrs. Corky #whatever."

Hahaha
Oh, that just makes the Kotsay shirts even funnier, to be #21.

Yeah the Braves don’t have many retired #’s, but that is one of them. lol I’ll pick one up, and most likely be the only one on the West Coast with one of those. lol

You won't be the only one...
...for at least a day. I plan on wearing mine at one of the games during my west coast ballpark trip at the end of this month.

very nice
Good-lookin’ shirts. In more ways that one. I cannot wait.
I only wish we could get BEACH on one sleeve and TC on the other somehow.

Those would be nice
But CafePress doesn’t offer them, and if they did, that would bump the cost exponentially.

So...
Does anyone at all have any objection to me changing Mark’s #11 to Warren Spahn’s hallowed #21? I mean, nowhere on the shirt is a Braves logo, or any affiliation, other than similar colors…
My mind is pretty much made up, and for the sake of matching up with the front image, I’m likely going to do it, but I’d like to hear what others have to say before I do it at home.

I don't have a problem with it
Ol’ Warren was great, and I have a picture of him and Sain on my wall as I write this. I don’t think he would object. Not for a good cause such as this.
Plus, I think it makes sense, otherwise the front doesn’t match the back, and its kinda weird. I also think it makes sense, because M. Kotsay is 11, not J. Kotsay.
The only other thing would be to touch-up the front image and change the number. But, probably too much trouble.

Sat. Aug. 16 (vs.Giants) Wives Fundraiser
Each season the Braves Wives roam Turner Field selling baseballs hidden in brown paper bags that have been autographed by their husbands and other Braves players and coaches. Fans may purchase these surprise bags for $40 from gates opening until the end of the third inning.

That would be funny as hell
Catie: Hello sir, would you like to buy a mystery autographed ball?
Me: Oh hey, you’re Catie Francoeur, right? Awesome!
Catie: tee-hee
Me: I know this is going to sound awkward, but yeah, I’d definitely love to buy a ball but um… I don’t know how to say this, so I’m just going to come out and say it, I’d rather buy it from Jamie Kotsay.
Catie runs away crying.
Me: And tell your husband to stop hitting into so many GOT-DAMN DOUBLE PLAYS!!!

I'm so there.
If I weren’t by myself, I’d wear the shirt. But if it was just me approaching her while wearing a shirt of her in a compromised position, I’m sure I’d be escorted out. Otherwise, if I am by myself, I have no problem going up to her and getting a photo.

OH WOW
Too bad CafePress doesn’t have towels to print onto. We could make custom towels with Resop’s face on it, and we can throw them onto the field when he comes out to pitch.
And then we can collectively get kicked out for throwing things onto the field.

no
they would be like the Steelers Terrible Towels! We’d just swing them around our head when/if he ever comes into a game again. Not that I’m complaining, but why is he on our roster if he never is going to be used?

My theory
Resop is going to be used in strict mop-up duty fashion. And last time I checked, it’s been a while since we’ve been blown out of proportion, so I guess Resop’s lack of work is an analogy for at least being in the game, every game lately.
