4/8 Minor League Update: Doom & Gloom Edition

I am sure we have all heard about Jordan Schafer's suspension by now. I really do not have anything to say other than Tyler Flowers came back from a similar suspension and he was a very good ball player afterwards. Only time will tell how Jordan will come out of this. He has always had tools so my prediction is he will come back just fine. On to the scores.

Buffalo 3, Richmond 5

  • J. Anderson - 1-4
  • B. Lillibridge - 0-4 2K
  • B. Jones - 1-4 2B, K
  • C. Sammons - 2-4
  • J. Reyes - 5IP H 2BB 6K
  • Nothing too exciting here tonight, though Reyes did pitch pretty well. His walks are down and he threw 70 pitches with 45 of those being strikes. Not a bad outing and hopefully he can get that to translate up another level

Mississippi - Off due to mourning.

    Myrtle Beach 0, Potomac 2

  • G. Hernandez - 0-4
  • T. Flowers - 0-2 2BB
  • P. Britton - 2-4
  • Again with the shutout just nothing special other than Tyler Flowers knows how to take a walk. He has walked at least once in every game this season and multiple times in 3 of the 5 games he has played in. 9/4 K/BB ratio. Brilliant!

    Columbus 14, Rome 1

  • J. Heyward - 1-4 2B, 3K
  • C. Johnson - 1-4 2B, K
  • J. Locke - 3.1IP 9H 10R 8ER 2BB 1K
  • C. Ludahl - 0.1IP
  • Jason Heyward has his first truly bad game and he still hits a double. Cody Johnson gets a hit that doesn't leave the yard and Jeff Locke looks came out of this looking like Tina Turner circa 1975. He was my boy too. Ludahl gets mentioned because he is a shortstop.

That about does it. Tommy Hanson throws again tomorrow for the Beach, so I am sure we will all have our eyes on that one.

    Locke!?

I am really disappointed with him so far. I wonder if something is wrong.

    Maybe

He is having trouble harnessing the 15-20 extra MPHs that he discovered in the offseason training with Jordan Schafer?

    Question, Exhortation

If major league baseball doesn't have a test for HGH, how is it that Schafer got caught?

The Unfiltered story at Prospectus was wondering the same thing, and they suggested that there was some kind of organizational investigation that netted a confession, but provided nothing more concrete.

So I came here, figuring no Braves fan site was more likely to know, or to be able to find out . . . .

    Oh, and go Josh Anderson.

I'll end up liking Tejada. . . . just give me some time
