Open Thread and Wow, How did I Miss Yesterday’s Game?
Atlanta @ Colorado
I feel like I should get a blogging demerit. I totally blanked on there being a game yesterday. I had it in my head that there was an off day -- I was thoroughly convinced of it. Unbelievable.
My broken home computer situation has me all out of sorts. I feel like I’ve lost an appendage.
At any rate, there is a game today, or so I’m guessing. We’ll start the new week of NAHWAL tonight, sorry to everyone who tried to participate yesterday. As soon as I get my home computer fixed I can get more interviews posted -- I’m really behind in that. The next one is Blaine Boyer, and I need to get it posted so I can remove whatever jinx is affecting him.
How do you only get three hits at Coors field?

I'd vote for that!
But I thought Smoltzie did a pretty good job Sunday...I think he might've even practiced it over the winter. It completely surprised me.

We need to recruit members. It is kind of sad. But it is also sad to see the opening series at the Ted not even come close to selling out. I guess we are just some apathetic fans! Too bad, because you know that has to play some role in who we sign...The more money the club makes, the more they are willing to spend to make more money. Right?

You think that's crazy, check out Lookout Landing, the Mariners one.
Last game thread topped out at 1160 or so.
Course a lot of it is hopelessly pessimistic complaining. So good and bad.

who cares?
I dont care if these comments are a hundred back and forth sentences between SmoltzsBeard and McCannFan. Hundreds of posts? We're lucky if we get to 100, and that only started happening after Gondee offered prizes. Most of those posts are just NAHWAL picks anyway, from people that dont post anything else! Thats fine and all, really, its great, but the more we're talking abotu braves, the more informal support they get.
I mean, this isnt the late 90's, we're not getting to and losing the world series perennially, we're just a regular good ball club. I'm not sure what happened, but i'm literally addicted to the Bravos.

Yeah well.
Us Braves fans and our blogs are a little spread out. Mine's new but getting some good traffic. There's just a very large network of Braves blogs out there so I think that's part of the problem.
However, I would agree that we need to really show our colors more effectively. Sunday's game had a good showing . Although a Home Opener on a Monday night against the Pirates is hard to get excited about we should be out in greater force.
Just stay faithful out there y'all!

Yeah..
..but there's a few that have been around a long time, look at Mac over at Braves Journal. His game threads get epic at times and he's been doing it for 10 years now. I've moved mine around a couple times, but have been at my current address for 2 years now. I'm happy for one that you stop by and comment sometimes. :) But mines a bit different as I cover both the M's and Braves - though more Braves than M's. The Mariners have a great blogosphere.
USS Mariner
Lookout Landing
Detecto Vision
Are the three solid ones, though D-Vision is a bit of a black sheep. One thing about the Choposphere is that for the most part (that I know of) we (authors) get along pretty well. Though I've never really talked with Mac all that much. Martin last year, was able to get me a Braves Media guide..which reminds me I need the 2008 version. hmmm...

I noticed this too
A long time ago I was a part of a Braves group, but got out of it when the bickering and sarcasm between regular posters got to be cumbersome. I came to TC late last year, and one thing I've noticed is how well people get along. Even when there are disagreements, they are usually civil, and nothing seems to really linger.
On that note, I want to say "thanks" to the veterans of this site for being so welcoming. It doesn't go unnoticed.

Just saw...
... that there was a fan post from jug that had a lot of NAHWAL stuff in it. I think I will reconsider giving points for last night's game. Give me a day or so and I'll post them up, with the results in jug's fan post. It is quite amazing the amount of people who come out of the woodwork for free shit. bACEballstud chose a t-shirt, so there are plenty of books and video games left. My hope is that we can get through most of the season with loot to give away each week.

Your cable provider...
