Open Thread and NAHWAL: Rubber Game
Atlanta Braves at New York Mets, Apr 27, 2008 1:10 PM EDT
Well the Falcons got their quarterback of the future. How does everyone feel about that? On another note we have John Smoltz going against the legendary Nelson Figueroa. I didn't see yesterday's game so I don't really know what happened to Hudson, but the bullpen pitched well.
Obviously if Smoltz comes out and pitches like he has been we are good to go. But I guess we will probably be short two of our better offensive players in Chipper and Escobar. Chipper is probably out until Tuesday and Escobar could be out a little longer with a cracked fingernail.
I'll do a big update tomorrow and really update the NAHWAL stuff and do a weekend wrap-up for the minor league teams.

Normally
I relish every inning of a John Smoltz Day, but this is really painful to watch. I’m not in the usual state of frustration of a game getting out of reach, but more generally worried and concerned for Smoltzie’s health. It’s getting so difficult to watch, I’m resigned to the computer, and here I stand.

argh
We’re setting this up for another one run loss after another scoreless outing by the bullpen. I want to cry.

Depressing game to watch. That ump had a horrendous strike zone. The 5th and 6th XBHs of the season for Delgado came at a terrible time.
Blah.

Losers
Yeah yeah make excuses…THAT LEGENDARY NELSON FIGUEROA, if you know anything about baseball, has been great this year and he kicked your sorry team’s behind. RAUL CASANOVA HAHAHAHAHA…and Delgado, who can’t even swing anymore, hits two homers…Smoltz and Chipper are too old, they are done…you have no bullpen, get over it your team sucks…You are a bunch of cocky losers, and your team sucks, you bunch of redneck freaks

Losers Part II
Haha and the above predictions made me chuckle…and that idiot who wrote “lol nelson figueroa, sums up this game” should probably jump off of a cliff to rid the world of his stupidity

part blah
i like how you changed the “s” to a “z”. it’s edgy. i like it.
“jump off a cliff” ... lol… that’s another gem. much better than the over-used “jump off a building.”
no seriously, you’re sending douche chills up everyone’s spine. you’ll find a better delivery tucked between your balls as soon as they drop.

I love Metz fans like this guy
...whenever I go up to visit New York, they make sure the hot dogs I get off the street are hot and fresh, I don’t wait in too long of lines at Duane Reade and Dunkin Donuts, and make sure that the #4 train isn’t too late when going to Yankee Stadium.

Some of us may be capable of being "redneck freaks"...
... but at least we’re not a queer with AIDS riding the 7 train like you, “Metzfan.”

Results, for what they're worth...
Attendance for the game was 53,487. With a guess of 53,876, jack_d gets the point.
I don’t find anyone click-worthy.
No AAB.
