Hampton must be treated like glass

I am officially no longer going to anticipate more than 10 innings from him this year.

Star-divide

It's time to make this guy a 20 million dollar middle reliever.

Mr. Glass
Let's call him "Mr. Glass" ala Samuel L Jackson's character in Unbreakable.

meh
He's more like paper maiche. At least glass can withstand a stiff wind.

Not Real News.
Until something happens that would make him likely to miss real game time, I won't change my opinion of him.  He's an extreme injury risk that still has good stuff.  We'll continue to trot him out as a starter until his arm rips clean off.

we all laugh at hampton
but at least we're not the cubs who were plagued with both wood's and prior's hyper-injuries throughout the last few years.

laugh if you may, i'll still be optimistic about hampton.  like i joke with one of my buddies, and declare that the very lowest point of the baseball year is when chris reitsma is a headline on si.com, and no year is complete without mike hampton getting injured in some way shape or form, we must all remember that prior to all the injuries, hampton was still a hell of a pitcher.  snapping maddux's gold glove streak is something we can't take away from him.  one of these days, he will be able to play again, and when he does, we just might be surprised.

aw hell, maybe hampton should just declare his hometown "planet zito," start doing yoga and meditation, carrying satin pillows and stuffed animals with him on the road, and pray that he gets a slice of the durability that barry zito had when he was in oakland.
