Horacio Ramirez Released
According to: http://blog.seattletimes.nwsource.com/mariners/2008/03/ramirez_released.html
Ramirez was released today. Not really a surprise, since he's stunk mightily since he was traded. It is kind of strange that they released him now instead of just non-tendering him last year. They wasted a half-million bucks, pretty much.
Any chance we'll see him in Braves camp in a week or two?
No?
Good.

he was an interesting pitcher
say what you will about him, he was a bonafide yankee killer; i still have a fond memory of him going eight strong innings at yankee stadium and shutting down "murderer's row." and then last year when i went to seattle, i coincidentally saw horacio shut down the yankees yet again at safeco, before i lost interest in the game and started jawing with chris reitsma's alleged cousins.
what's the point? who knows. honestly, if we need an arm, try him out. he wasn't horrible for the braves, might not be a bad backup arm to have if things go horribly wrong.
