Aybar in Jail....Wren trade looks like a winner now

There was a lot of flack thrown at Frank Wren when he traded Chase Fontaine and Willy Aybar to the Rays for Jeff Ridgway, but today Wren appears to be a much smarter man than people have been giving him credit for.

Seems that Willy Aybar is a wife beater to go along with his drug problem, and has landed himself in jail.  He is looking at three months in jail if convicted.  This trade definitely appears to be in our favor now.  I feel bad for the Rays because they just gave up some baggage in Elijah Dukes and find the very same baggage once again sitting on their doorstep.

Here is the link to the article on ESPN, http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3230697

Could Wren have Nostradamus like skills?

Meh.
All we got in return was Jeff Rideway, so it's not like we fleeced them.  If anything, this tragic developement makes the deal pretty even.  Aybar is quickly running out of credit at my store...

Yuck
Jackass.

I still wouldn't have traded Fontaine for Ridgway straight up. There's just a bit of potential with Fontaine for that .275/.400/.400 bench guy who can fill in at 2B, SS, 3B, and OF and deliver key at-bats. Giving up that isn't worth a 27 year old lefty who's done nothing to indicate he can pitch consistently in the big leagues.
