Please
Please get this done ASAP before the Yankees lose out on CC and make a ridiculous offer like they did for Pavano.

I hate the yankees. They are not creative in anyway when they put a team together. I doubt either Aj or Cc will sign with the yanks. Which is surprising because teams are not putting a lot of money out on the table and players are going to have to settle for less. I will be very satisfied to see the braves get Aj the Angels get CC and tex go to Boston. Yes I am a Yankee hater. Poor A-rod

Sign Burnett, get Carlos Lee
Just like someguy said, we neeed to make thiis deal ASAP before CC heads West. After we sign AJ, I heard Steve Phillips on the Michael Kay show in NY(Yes I live in NY) say that the Astros are cutting payroll and neeed to try Carlos Lee, Miguel Tejada, there closer(cant spell his last name) I say lets get Carlos Lee. Right handed bat, plays LF and has great power. Didnt play a whole season and still drove in something close to 100rbi’s….what do you think?

just so u know Carlos Lee is going to be gettin $18.5M for the next 4 years… we really dont have that kind of money to spend, esp if we want to add Burnett.. that would end up putting our payroll well above 100M after estimating salary increase (arbitration and such)

thats just the monetary cost… it doesnt include the prospects that were brought up… at the very least 2 of our top 10 an dprobably one of our top 3… Carlos Lee is probably one of the best hitters in baseball that no one talks about

I’ve always been a fan of Carlos Lee. I think it would take quite a bit to get him though. We would have to part with probably 2 of our top 10 prospects plus some good filler.

Carlos Lee is not worth the price
If we get Burnett, we should take a step back in the outfield search. I know many people are going to be opposed to this idea, but why don’t we take our chances with blanco/diaz/anderson lf, schafer cf, francouer rf to start the season? If our pitching and bullpen are good (Burnett, JJ, Vazquez, Smoltz, Campillo w/ Morton/Reyes/Hanson putting it together in AAA; moylan, gonzalez, soriano, logan in the pen), we should still have enough offense to win. If we continue to get no production from our outfield, why don’t we revisit trading after the season starts. Certainly Carlos Lee would be a great addition, but we need to hold onto our pieces and be patient. Heyward is on the way, and we will see him in the majors in the spring of 2010.

I like this idea of carlos lee if we can get the Astros to eat some of his contract it would be a great trade. No we cant take our chances in the outfield. We need a stable guy to fill that hole. I believe Frenchy will turn it on this year, and a speedy lead off hitter in Center and there is our outfield.
