Manny In a Braves uniform anyone???
Frank Wren's main objectives this offseason is to sign two front of the rotation type pitchers and a power hitting left fielder. That bats RIGHT HANDED. I am just curious as to why there has not been much discussion about Manny to fell this void for the braves. He carried the Dodgers to the playoffs on his back, allowed David Ortiz to shine in Boston, and will bring in a large Fan base. Whats wrong with the guy!!! We need him.

There are so many sarcastic retorts to this
That I can’t pick just one out. I’m kind of overwhelmed.

how can u have a name like “tradechipper” then expect to be taken seriously on a braves blog…. i cant even think of a smart analogy (maybe ill write the yale guy) to make fun of you… this is a horrible idea and i lve manny as much as the next guy… but he is like kinda like paris hilton.. sure shes hot from far away… she may even be fun to sleep with… but u dont want a relationship with her… u just want to watch her screw up and make a mess of herself… actually that analogy isnt half bad

I'm assuming that you've read my posts...
…and respect the power of my intellect. I thank you for valuing my opinion so highly as to ask me personally what I think we should do. Let me respond by saying that I don’t think Manny is a realistic option – too expensive, and could end up being more trouble than he’s worth. My preference would be to maybe sign Dunn if the years and $ are reasonable, but it looks like that’s not going to happen either. Ultimately, I don’t want to see valuable dollars and roster spots taken away from young, potential superstars such as Heyward, Schafer, and Freeman by over-the-hill former stars. I hope this answers your question, and quenches your desire to know my inner-most thoughts. Good day, Kind Sir!

Swo12bv baseball is a business right. Do you know what we could get for chipper. Yes he is a great player hall of fame no doubt to me. But I am not ridding his dick like you are. He stays injured and I imagine we could get a ton for a player like chipper. He is no longer in his prime and we need to get younger. Manny was just a thought I saw on a blog I picked up on. And why wouldnt you date Paris she is rich!!!!

Wow, “riding dick” and “Paris Hilton” in the same paragraph, and they’re somehow not connected oh snap double entendre
You also mention the reasons why we couldn’t get a ton for Chipper. injuries and aging are the same reasons a lot of people don’t like that the team’s going after Burnett, and why many think Sheets is out of the question.
Manny + Atlanta just seems like one of those things that all parties legitimately involved, as well as the fans just seems to get the impression that “it just won’t work, so why bother even trying?” A lot of factors involved, money, Manny’s ego/actions, team chemistry, etc, etc.

You just gave a couple of reasons why we couldn’t get a ton for Chipper; “he stays injured” and “he’s no longer in his prime”. Why would you expect a huge return for a player that a team couldn’t count on for more than 120 games? He’s a great player, but I really doubt any team is willing to give up a bunch to get him.
Add in that we have pretty much no worthwhile third basemen in the minors and that means that you have to get a young third baseman in return for him which seems like it would really limit the teams you could trade to. Also add in that he’s a franchise icon and you’ve got an idea that really doesn’t make any sense. I can’t believe I even need to point this out.

Dang bigjoe, that was a totally worthwhile and informative response, with only a tinge of sarcasm injected for good measure. I respect it.

"...ridding his dick..."
“Of what?”, one might ask themselves. Perhaps Mr. Jones has an STD that Mr. Tradechipper alone is aware of? This is a mystery that begs to be solved!
