A Major League source has confirmed the names of the four players the Braves are sending the White Sox in exchange for Javier Vazquez and Boone Logan. Along with shortstop Brent Lillibridge and catcher Tyler Flowers, the Braves are including 20-year-old third baseman Jon Gilmore and 20-year-old left-handed pitcher Santos Rodriguez.

Source confirms names in Vazquez deal
Wow! We didn't even have to give up any pitching above Rookie ball.... that is impressive.
The deal should be official later tonight after Vazquez takes a physical early this afternoon, and the Braves are planning a morning press conference to introduce him.

even though we had to give up T-Flow, i still think this is a pretty good deal by the Braves.

Agreed. I hate to give up T-Flow just as much as the next guy but that fact that we didn’t have to give up any pitching at all, expect for that GCL guy, I think makes up for it. Plus Flowers is already talking about the DH so I’m not sure if he was ever going to make it as a catcher.

T-Flow

just wondering if it is pronounced flow like airflow, or flou like flowers. Because if it is flow like in airflow, then that is just dumb, and if it is flou like flowers then it sounds dumb.

I hate this new trend with the nicknames. On the other hand, the Cardinals have an A-jols for a firstbasemen.

or it could be A-Pu

It’s like airflow.

yep. we still have our pitching prospects intact to possibly make another deal. I say we do what we can to sign Burnett, then go after Dunn to play left.

bobby abreu

one option I haven’t seen thrown out there. I think he could possilbe be a good option for us. Any thoughts

I completely agree.
I think he would play better defense than Dunn or Burrell, but while not providing as much power, he would still hit for a much higher average and actually has a career obp of over .400 I do believe.

i know it would never happen

but it would be great to back of burnett completely and sign tex instead. then flip kotchman and prospects for some young pitching without the injury history. a complete pipe dream that wont happen but its nice to imagine
