The good news about the Furcal fiasco
Wren won't deal with these agents again. Since they represent Randy Wolf, it means we won't get stuck with him for the next 2 or 3 years.

For 2 years I don’t think Wolf would have been a bad bet, but this certainly closes the book on him.
I still think signing Randy Johnson to a 1-year contract is a good idea, regardless of what Bigjoe says.
I guess I should be one to talk.

And in between is where I'm stuck.

Orlando Hudson
I doubt the Braves have much interest in Orlando Hudson, but how much would it cost for the Braves to get him if they were? After all, they did have interest in Furcal to play second (maybe it was a sentimental move, I don’t know). They are close to the same age, they’re both switch hitters, and both can hit (they’re both health risks too). The plus with Hudson is he already plays second so that won’t be an issue as it may have been for Furcal. I’m just saying if, in fact, the Braves are looking for a middle infielder, he would be the best available option. I personally think Johnson is just fine for second, but he MAY be used as trade bait for a pitcher or outfielder depending on what the Bravos decide to do.
I don’t know if I would want to trade KJ. His bat is solid. I say put him in left then sign Hudson. We’d have a nice young outfield of KJ, Anderson, Frenchy. Milwaukee did that with Braun cause his defense at 3rd was less than stellar.
True, but Braun also slugged .550+

AND
Did not make an error all year. Of course some of that is the fact he couldn’t “reach” some of the balls hit his way, but still – those he got to he fielded cleanly.
True.
even going by +/- he was an above average fielder.
