Waiting
I thought about this in about 30 seconds, and it really could happen. I will lay out the scenario.
It is nearing February, almost Spring Training time. Furcal has injured his back after signing with the Dodgers by lifting a heavy box(I just had to throw that in there. It makes no difference to the scene). Ben Sheets and Adam Dunn have still not been signed. Would it not be smart to give them 2 year contract offers each? Really, that is all we would need them for. After 2010, JJ and Hanson should each be nearing their potential, and Heyward, Schafer, Gorkys, and hopefully Francoeur will be good outfielders. Sheets will fill in as our number 1 pitcher until Hanson can take it over, and Dunn fills in our power hitting outfielder until Heyward can take that over. Really, this isn't that far out from reality. Dunn is getting very little interest from anybody, and Sheets isn't exactly being talked about too much either. Also, Griffey might still be available. I know he isn't the best defender anymore, but he would be a LF, the same position Manny plays. I know he is a better fielder than Manny. What do you guys think?

If I was the GM
he would either have a contract on the table with us or he would be a Brave after signing that contract. BUT FW doesn’t see it that way, so I am just putting this scenario out there.
Agreement
I would rather have Ben Sheets @ 8-10 mil for 20-25 starts plus Adam Dunn’s 40 homers and 100 walks than watching them cross off 5 more top prospects the list
Well....
With the way the braves offseason is going right now we may not get any free agents. 1st Peavy, Burnett, and then Furcal wtf man. We should go after Dunn before anyone puts an offer on the table and Sheets because with our luck the other team will win the bidding.
If Wren was “forced” to sign Dunn and Sheets to short term contracts because of all this nonsense I would be pretty happy.
I guess I should be one to talk.
There's nights that I can't even walk.
There's days I couldn't give a fuck.
And in between is where I'm stuck.
