According to Ken Rosenthal the Braves are in deep discussion about Rafael Furcal. It was earlier reported that the A's offered Furcal 4 years and $40 mil. The Braves offer is reported to be for 3 years with a vesting option. According to Furcal's agent Furcal is seriously considering the Braves offer. This would give the Braves a surplus of middle infielders. If the Braves are able to sign Furcal then they would most likely trade one of Kelly Johnson or Yunel Escobar. I would rather it was Johnson and then shift Furcal to second. That would give us a very good middle infield, plus it would give us a true lead off hitter again. Not really sure what the market would be for Johnson but I do know that it would be better for Escobar. This could open up some options on the trade market for us.
