"Of course, we're going to try to win the division. Of course, we're going to be the front-runner. Of course, we're going to be the team to beat," [the new Mets closer, Francisco Rodriguez,] said Saturday. [...]
"I don't want there to be a controversy or the other ballclubs in that division to take it personally or take it in a bad way," he said. "If they ask me, 'Oh, which ballclub is going to win the National League East?' It's going to be the Mets. Easy question."
K-Rod is already acting like a Met
Will these guys ever learn. This is the same stupid mistake that other Mets players have made, and now K-Rod's making it with the defending World Series champs in his own division... what an idiot! Until the Mets prove otherwise, Whole Camels is right, the Mets are indeed choke artists... K-Rod will learn that too.

It would just be hilarious if someone like Manny Acosta declared the Braves the team to beat.

I guess I should be one to talk.
There's nights that I can't even walk.
There's days I couldn't give a fuck.
And in between is where I'm stuck.

Wait for one of the Phillies to counteract that statement, more than likely Jimmy Rollins. I’m glad we don’t do this because it makes them look a whole lot worse (and makes us even more amused) when they turn out to choke two years in a row. The Braves may have missed the playoffs the last three years, but the Mets choked right at the end the last two years. Of course.

Well, I think it's fair to say that Rodriguez won't be the Mets issue in 2009...
the rotation is pretty rough once you get past Santana. Delgado is likely to return to his regularly scheduled decline following this year’s fluke. Moises Alou will pee on his knees to try to get them to work, but they too will fail again. Who knows what kind of garbage they’ll throw at second base.
It’s really a shame, because they have three or four of the 15 best players in the NL. For the Mets fans that is, not for us. We can comfort ourselves with their plight.

What do you want him to say?....
….“It won’t be us. I think the Phils will win, and the Mets will choke again.” Do you really think that he would say that? Come on!!
