Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

"We're in decision-making mode. It's down to (the Yankees) and Braves,'' [A.J. Burnett's agent, Darek] Braunecker said. "It's a matter of what's in his heart.''

Agent: Decision coming soon for Burnett
Let's hope his heart is in the South.

I have a bad feeling about this…

I’ll take “What’s In His Heart” for 80MM over 5 years, Alex.

Man, I’d really like to be wrong. Damn my pessimism!

I really think the pinstripes uniform will chafe Burnett though.

Please AJ!!

Our women are better looking
our food is better
pitcher’s park
DOB is the only media guy – NYC media legion doesn’t like you already!

Yankees suck man, c’mon

I won’t argue against Southern women being better than Northern women, that’s just a fact, but better looking? There are like 10 million people in New York and a bunch of major TV, movie, and fashion centers. Percentage alone says the women there are better looking.

by cbwilk on Dec 12, 2008 4:35 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

There's an epidemic of kankles up north.

Per capita the women are much better in the south. 10 million people but a small percentage of them are media/fashion affiliated. Most are just your everyday folks which hands down lose to the south.

when u go to a bar are u looking at per capita or amount….

thats all im saying

"We win today, that's two in a row... if we win tomorrow, that's called a winning streak. It has happened before..."

If your picking up women in the bar then your looking in the wrong spot

Everybody knows the good girls are in the produce section at the market or at the gym. If your taking that lady home from the bar then she’s fucked three times as many people as you have. Never take a bar rat back to your place and always grab some aqua and advil before you pass out. Makes the escape the next morning so much better.

Interesting.

I was in the grocery store this evening and a very attractive blonde came up and asked me where the canned meat was. She wanted to sleep with me, right?

I guess I should be one to talk.
There's nights that I can't even walk.
There's days I couldn't give a fuck.
And in between is where I'm stuck.

OF COURSE!!

I hope you showed her where the “canned meat” was. hehehehe

Good looking is one thing

Being a snobby bitch can make Jamie Kotsay look like Roseanne Barr.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Disagree

Being a snobby bitch makes the woman even hotter. When my wife gets dolled up and acts bitchy, it makes me want her more…What – too much information?

by buzzdeadwax on Dec 12, 2008 5:13 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

If this is what you consider too much information, I’m afraid to know what you thought about the whole body hair issue.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

by royhobbs on Dec 12, 2008 5:15 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I would contend that it’s wierder to hear about what turns a guy on, than about his appearance.

by buzzdeadwax on Dec 12, 2008 5:38 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I would be more upset to see us give him five years than to see us miss out.

Five years for Burnett would be a move that the Braves would regret, but that seems to be his demand. Oh well.

by BraveBronco0121 on Dec 12, 2008 4:14 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

why dont we just spend 90 mill? we need Burnett, it’ll be better than losing him and getting someone like……uhhh. Oliver Perez?

by SayHeyWerd on Dec 12, 2008 4:19 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

90 million is a lot of dough...

even spread over five years it’s 18 million per. I think it would be a far better investment to add an outfielder, my preference would be Adam Dunn for 3/30 (maybe less considering how much Ibanez got) and then Sheets for 3/50. Shorter deals, less money, and more value there.

I concur…

by sddbaker on Dec 12, 2008 4:52 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

5/90

The Braves aren’t going 5/90. The yankee’s offer is 5/85 and the Braves is 5/80. It all depends on where AJ wants to pitch. Does he want to pitch in NY where many players go to die because of the media or in ATL where there really isn’t any media. It will come down to comfort and I hope Southern Comfort wins out, as it always should.

Nine times out of ten

It’s about the money. Not what you’re doing while earning it, but about the bottom line.

And the other one time, his name is Greg Maddux.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Burnett is a Yankee

MLBTR (ESPN) is saying Burnett just signed(or is close) with the Yankees. 5/$82.5. I want Ben Sheets.

by CHill33 on Dec 12, 2008 5:02 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I read that the Yanks want Sheets and Lowe along with Burnett and Sabathia.

f*ck the Yankees!

I wish there was a salary cap.

Time to press for Sheets or pull something out of the old arse for Peavy.

Yanks Sign Burnett

MLBTR has the Yanks signing Burnett.

Wren – go get Peavy.

So

June 23-25, Yankees come to Atlanta. What happens:

• Braves fans boo the shit out of Burnett
• Braves fans have already forgotten
• Doesn’t matter because Yankees fans will outnumber us 3:1

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

by royhobbs on Dec 12, 2008 5:14 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

whats a knowledgeable braves fan?

that third bullet there

makes baby Jesus cry. But it will happen.

by someguy917 on Dec 12, 2008 5:18 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I always like all the above myself.

The Braves fan will boo the Yanks cause they are the Yanks, not so much for Burnett cause they will have forgotten. The boo sounds will be like a mosquito buzzing with all the Yankee fans in the stands.

by Sparhawk on Dec 12, 2008 5:48 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Stick the money in a mattress

NOT a bank. Keep our prospects. Suffer for a year or two.

We can make a couple of minor moves, but everyone still available is extremely flawed.
