CC Sabathia is not going to play on the West Coast. He is not going to play in the National League. CC Sabathia is going to be a Yankee, The Post has learned exclusively.
This may be good news or bad news depending upon your desire for A.J. Burnett to pitch for the Braves. Either way, I believe this will keep the Yankees from over bidding for his services.

At the bar at the very top of your page, where your user name blog listing is, there is a little icon that is a sheet of paper. Click it to see all your postings, and in the Talking Chop section, you should be able to see a list of your FanShots. At the far right, there should be little red X marks that delete things.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

No worries. Bigjoe has already proven i’m easy to overlook! HA!

It would also help if gondeee reconfigured the main page so that fanshots weren’t buried in the bottom right corner of the sections, the last place the human eye is trained to go to. Nobody seems to care about what the other blogs are talking about, nor reading about featured stories that are MONTHS old.

Agreed
Although I was more joking about Bigjoe calling me a noob because he didn’t remember me from this years game threads. That guy is priceless, wouldn’t trade him for a bag of balls!
Honestly I think it’s more of an SBNation issue than it is with Gondee’s configuration, I could be wrong though. Fanshots seem to be the new Beta (as opposed to VHS), great concept but nobody seems to want to adopt it. The placement on the page doesn’t help but that’s made worse if you’re like me and configure your account to display the most amount of Fanposts possible (10 just isn’t enough).

The front page is very much customizable; TC is pretty much on the default positioning, meant for the Hot Stove section, and the “featured stories” sections to take precedent over the FanShots.
The FanShots don’t necessarily have to be the Betamax/VHS of the site if they were just given more attention. Furthermore, I always felt that the advent of the FanShots made running the SBNation blogs easier on the moderators, because it let the userbase do the “reporting,” and it was the discretion of the mod(s) if they felt it was front page worthy, which is where the most discussion is likely to be spawned. And for people as bored at work as often as I am, the more discussions and topics to read, the better.

I knew the site had some customization features, but I didn’t know to what extent. I agree, FanShots are great for their intended purpose. On the flip side of that, where would you put them? Real estate wise I’m not sure there is a prime location.
I feel your pain, boredom in the work place SUCKS! I wasted far too many days away in my office scouring the net for anything that would pass the time. I was fortunate enough to be able to start my own business and now I have the pleasure of working in an atmosphere that keeps me busy and on the internet all day long. Of course my eyesight has gone to shit, but that’s another conversation.

If you were to peruse other baseball blogs with heavy userbases (Mariners, Royals, Padres), they all have their FanShots section right beneath the FanPosts. All the other stuff gets pushed down below those. You may have upped your FanPost visibility to 10+, but most others don’t (I used to, but changed back to 10), because the majority of users’ attention spans don’t care to go back beyond what’s not visible on the main page.
Work’s work – I may be bored, but when I do work, I enjoy it. Which is why I freelance, because I can come and go easier than a full-timer, and I’m never regarded as “overhead.” Gripes about the corporate world are totally irrelevant here, so I won’t go into them, but I would love to begin my own business when I get older. I feel you on the eyes. Mine are ghastly without contacts/glasses.

Is the deal almost done for Lowe too?
Jon Heyman of SI.com is speculating that
An agreement with Lowe appears likely to be finalized in coming days, as well.
He also mentions that the Yankees would like to sign three starters this offseason. Having already netted Sabathia, and potentially landed Lowe, it’s no big news here that the final target is one of Sheets or Burnett. Another little tidbit of news in the article I found interesting.
Burnett is talking to the Braves, as well, and there is a feeling Atlanta is the favorite to lock him up.
Honestly I feel this is nothing more than speculation by Heyman but I do agree it could be good news for the Braves. If Sheets accepts their (the Yanks) offer quickly that would essentially cause A.J.’s camp to lose some negotiating leverage. This is just a guess, but I believe both Sheets and Burnett could sign by the weekend. With whom is a whole other question.
Looks like some of the media speculation that the big FA’s will start signing quickly once the first domino falls is coming true.

From a Yankees perspective, why do they need to spend big bucks three starters? If they have Sabathia, Lowe, and Wang that’s an impressive three for them, two of them being sinker ball pitchers. Add in Hughes/Chamberlin/Kennedy and resign Pettitte for one more year and they have a great rotation….Pettitte, their #1 last year, would be #4…that’s a strong rotation.

I won’t pretend to know what’s in Cashman’s mind, or l’il Steinbrenner’s for that matter, but my guess is they don’t want to make the same mistakes as last season. Wang and Hughes are coming off injuries so you can’t be 100% sure what you’re gonna get from them. Chamberlain could be a monster but he too needs to prove he can throw a full season. I like Kennedy and Pettitte for depth but I wouldn’t want them as my number 3 guy (in case of injuries).
Other than that I agree, if the Yanks get 200 IP’s a piece out of Sabathia, Lowe, Wang and Chamberlain with Pettitte, Hughes and Kennedy as filler. HOOLLEEE COOWWW!

It won't work...

Pettite might not be back as a Yankee
so I guess they want 3 starters + Wang + Joba/Hughes/Kennedy

The new address might be a factor
The Yanks probably want to at least win the AL East in their first year in the new digs. When the Phils opened the Bank, they brought in Thome, David “What were we thinking” Bell and Billy Wagner. It didn’t work out for them, but they did make a splash with some new players on the field.

I just hope Burnett decides to come to the ATL
Who cares about the Yankees and their whole “lets buy every free agent that’s available” philosophy.

I feel the same way, but we are just fans. I don’t know what it is about the Yankees. They have a rich history, but now they are just about buying all the best players. How has that worked out for them lately? The Yankees have lost touch with the game if you ask me. They don’t build a team, they buy a team. They could learn something from the Marlins and other small market teams about getting the right kind of players to play in your system.
Gawd, I hate the Yanks. Go Braves!

Another Burnett update from K-Ros
Rosenthal says
Talks between the Braves and free-agent right-hander A.J. Burnett “progressed through the night,” but the Yankees remain a factor in the Burnett discussions, major-league sources say.
He also speculates the Yanks could opt for the shorter contract term requirements of Lowe and Sheets rather than go five years for Burnett.

CC has an opt out clause after three years.
bahahahahahaha
I probably care about sports way too much. Like, waaaaaaaaay too much.

Haha, classic. I wonder who’s idea that was?
I guess I should be one to talk.
There's nights that I can't even walk.
There's days I couldn't give a fuck.
And in between is where I'm stuck.
