Tommy Hanson Line in Championship Game

5IP 3H 1 RUN 1BB 8K

He did it in around 80 pitches, and I believe with a 53 to 27 strike to ball ratio, Mesa is up on Phoenix 4-2 in the 6th, yet another dominating performance by Hanson...

Meanwhile, Tyler FLowers went is 0-3 so far, and matt young is 1-4 today in what may be his last game wearing a braves uni as he is eligible in the Rule 5 draft....

Van pope is 1-3 with a run

Not a bad outing for Hanson(if those numbers are accurate) 8K’s in 5 innings and only one walk? Thats impressive!! What’s the last results of this game? How did Flowers and Young finish?

Hanson’s only walk was to EY Jr. and it was a pesky at bat that he finally got walked. Flowers hit a ball to the warning track in rightcenter. But i don’t know how they all finished.

And that walk had two calls that could easily have gone the other way.

Impressive

I was in Phoenix this weekend and lucked out in seeing the AFL championship. I was looking forward to seeing Tyler and Tommy and Tommy didn’t disappoint. He was dominating and in one stretch threw 14 strikes in a row, resulting in 3 straight k’s(though one batter reached via pb).
I ran into 2 scouts as I was leaving and both said that they had never seen anyone, let alone a pitcher dominate the AFL like Tommy did. It doesn’t mean much until he performs at the major league level, but it was nice to see/hear.
As for Flowers. He hit the ball hard a couple times. One he just got under on a fly to left. He gunned someone out and looked to have a good arm, but his mobility is somewhat limited.
Pope is Pope. He got abused in a couple ab’s and then smoked one to left.
Young I didn’t impress me much, then again, I didn’t expect him too.

My sentiments exactly...

But you really could see the difference between Tommy Hanson pitching and the rest of the AFL pitching. The second he got off the mound, the flood gates opened. The Atlanta Braves lost the championship for the Mesa Solar Sox.
