Wren wasn't fazed earlier this week, when it was reported that the Yankees were preparing to offer Burnett a five-year, $80 million contract. His initial skepticism has seemingly proven profound as subsequent reports have indicated the Yankees aren't currently willing to offer a fifth year. This keeps Burnett in play for the Braves and creates the possibility that they could land him or another top-of-the rotation starter and opt not to offer the prospect-rich package required to land Peavy.

I'm a happy camper
Let’s see how this all plays out, but I’m hopeful to land Burnett. Let’s hope that he picked up a few things from Halladay and can now stay healthy.

Sounds good to me
I’d like to think that we could get Burnett given the Braves financial situation, but I’d still like to acquire Peavy. A rotation with them two is dangerous in any series especially the playoffs.
Peavy
Burnett
Jurrjens
Campillo
Hampton/Glavine *Remember Hudson will be back in August too!

I wouldn’t count on Huddy being back in August that would put him back in a year or a little under and i think he won’t be back next year so maybe we could work out an extension for him on the cheap.

there is a mutual option on hudson for 2010, so we wouldnt need to work out an extension.. .and his salary for 2010 is cheap relative to his past performance, i think its 12M
