Around SBN: Knicks 90, Raptors 87: "Shump and Lin wouldn't let us lose."

When will the action start?

When do you think we will start finalizing some deals?

Are we going to wait till after the winter meetings?

Will we have a No. 1 Pitcher before the meetings?

Any time frame on Tazawa?

Is the Kelly Johnson and Kelly Johnson trade still a possibility?

Has anyone talked to Hampton, Glavine, Smoltz?

Have we made any offers to Burnett or Dempster yet?

Are we talking with Brad Penny, Randy Johnson, Wolf?

I'm think our two needs before the winter meetings are to sign either Burnett, Lowe, or Dempster and Tazawa.  After that we see what's happening at the winter meetings.

Any Ideas???  Any news????

this is why i love the NFL free agent period more. Those deals happen right away i’m really not good at waiting

watching sportscenter? don't you mean sportainment center.

Anyway I doubt anything significant happens on the pitching side until Sabathia signs and anything on the hitting side will wait on Texeira. This is how it usually shakes out as the Agents wait on the best FA to sign and set the market. Then the deals really start flowing.

Most big time free agents don’t start signing until the end of November, beginning of December, though usually it doesn’t happen until the Winter Meetings. Expecting a lot of action before that is silly. That’s how it happens every year, go back and check the transactions. Chill out and watch some football. The moves will happen, this will be an exciting offseason, but not for another month.

Probably...

during or just after the Winter meetings, but before the end of the year. Like most smart seniors who have pulled over a trillion dollars out of the stock market by choosing to pay today’s tax rate instead of waiting for the uncertainty of the next four years, most of these guys agents are probably advising them to get their taxes in order on this big money before the end of 2008!
