It's Over...
For now it appears to be over for the AJC has spoken check it out. Now it appears we will look for that starter or starters on the FA market and look for a LF. I would love for FW to go after a Dustin McGowan type guy who has good stuff just has not put it together maybe catch lightning in a bottle. But oh well we shall see in the coming days as to whether the feelings are truly mutual for Burnett and if we can get Ludwick done and then watch as Towers squirms at what could have been.

Attaboy Frankie!
All that’s left is to guess about the mediocre pile of dog poo the Pads land when Peavy does go. Luv it!

"Jake Peavy is obviously a quality top-of-the-rotation pitcher. But our focus is still to build our organization internally with our young players and we had to measure at what point we’d lose the ability to have a sustainable winning franchise going forward if we gave up too much talent."
Guys, we’ve got a smart GM. I believe John Schuerholz would have given Towers what he wanted.

No he wouldn't...that's just a silly thing to say..
…I’ve been following this team way too long. JS wouldn’t have caved either..

Just curious, you happen to have the link where that quote is from?
It seemed as though Wren had agreed to moving Yunel and Gorkys (at least that seemed to be the gist) so I wonder what is what that made him draw the line. Taking too long? Asking for Flowers? Don’t get me wrong I’m glad we have our SS, for now, but I hope that this isn’t an indication of Wren’s willingness to move him elsewhere this offseason.
I guess I should be one to talk.

And in between is where I'm stuck.

Winner: Frank Loser: San Diego Padres
Padres? They are in Rebuilding Mode. ATL? We are looking to win right now!! I have no idea what the Brain Trust (The Towers Administration) is thinking? I understand you want to drag it out as long as possible and see if the Braves bite and give you another player of your choice but at the end of the day, you are still paying Peavy all that money and you still havent improved your team.Way to go Tower, all this for nothing. Y
The Padres wanted to get young? Or greedy? We were offering “them” Escobar, Gorkys, Jo-Jo or Morton and Boyer or a minor leaguer! Then you have the nerve to ask for Flowers?????/ Are you kidding me? I am I pissed? Yes! I cant tell you how many times I loooked at my blackberry to see if we landed our Ace, but Iam relieved for two reasons Brave Nation. -One is we still keep our good players for now (2) my GM never folded and drawled for peavy..Way to go Frank! You are already up for GM of the year for 2009
