i'm no scout...

But i can’t tell anything from this video, other than he can throw to the plate from the stretch.

I'm no scout either,

but there is a lot that you could gather from this video.

Is his delivery easily repeatable? Looks like it.

Is his delivery violent, which could lead to a higher risk of injury? Doesn’t look like it.

Does he drive off his back leg? Probably could use some more refinement in this area, but its not terrible.

Is there a pause at the top of his windup? Not much.

Is he fluid? Is he stiff? Does he fall off to the glove side too much?

I’ll stop now, but this is a good video with very nice quality.

The only thing I could possibly pick on here is how it appears he thrusts his left shoulder down and to the left during delivery causing his right shoulder to “whip” his right arm through almost catapult like. I’m no scout either and that’s probably nit picky, but it looks slightly uncomfortable to say the least. Then again, watch Tim Lincecum pitch and comfort gets thrown out the window!

Yeah

I notice that now too, but that could be a product of fatigue this late in the season. I don’t know enough about it to definitively say so. Just from instructions I’ve had in my past I can only pick out the really obvious stuff. He is definitely a one inning pitcher with his max effort delivery and that glove side pull could lead to injury. It could also be easily corrected.

he looks like he’s really bringing it. he should probably tone that gas down, because with that kind of whip, he’s destined for something to get blown out
