Wanted:

We desperately need a couple of good starting pitchers in Atlanta. Would you like to be one of them? We are looking for:

-A Starting pitcher who doesn't suck (like Chuck James).
-Won't spend considerable time on the DL while under contract (like every pitcher but Jurrjens)
-And will pitch more than 30+ times a year after signed. (not like Hampton)

Must have impressive W-L record, excellent ERA and WHIP and give 20 QS's a year. Experience is required and company loyalty is a bonus.

Perks include:
-Multi million dollar contract for each year.
-Pitching for a Major League Baseball team.
-Adoring fans (unless you suck).

Please contact me directly if you're interested!

This is the poll question at ajc.com:

Which of these potential free-agent starting pitchers should the Braves target?
  Derek Lowe
  Randy Wolf
  Pedro Martinez
  Horacio Ramirez
  Ryan Dempster

And yes, that’s HoRam. I kid you not. Lowe is leading the voting, by the way, followed by Dempster. Horacio actually has 50 votes!

if we get HoRam maybe we can trade him to the Mariners for a releiver… I say Brandon Morrow… or maybe a bat maybe jeff Clement….

its happened before

ugh...

Cannot believe Ramirez would even be on the list. D-Lowe is no superstar but he’s a great playoff pitcher and a decent 15 win guy.

Dempster will probably stay in Chicago but from what I’ve read you could also add AJ and Penny to the list of candidates.

What about Harden? Are we not interested?

Lowe is more than 'decent'...

…he compared across the board this year with AJ Burnett. Damn cant get the format right so here…

Midway through the post it compares Burnett and Lowe.

I’d almost take Lowe over Burnett (but Burnett needs to opt out of his contract to be available.).

Not much of a choice here...

maybe they should just hold open tryouts at the Ted on Saturdays and Sundays this Fall.
