Rosenthal says Padres intend to explore Peavy deal with two other clubs
It's the Cubs and Dodgers. The Cubs don't have the talent to give, and the Dodgers have it but don't want to give it to a division rival. This will come back around to the Braves in a week or so, and we'll see if the Padres' demands have lessened.

MLBTR
is reporting that the White Sox will look to trade pitcher Javier Vazquez. He is owed $23 mil. over the next 2 seasons. He has a limited no trade clause that can block trades to the NL and AL West. It is reported that the White Sox will want an infielder in the trade. Although I would not give up a lot to get him I think that he would be worth a look. I think that Lilibridge and a lesser prospect would probably get him provided that we took on his contract, which isn’t to high and if he didn’t pan out we would only have him for 2 years. I think this might be a really good idea. He would provide a nice alternative to Peavy and although not an ace he is a good number 2. He has thrown over 200 innings in 8 of his 11 seasons and 4 straight. He has excellent strikeout numbers and has averaged 12 wins a year.
Eh..they need..
..a second baseman as the plan is to move Alexi Rameriz to his natural shortstop position.
Any reason why
Lillibridge can’t move to 2B?
Maybe they would be interested in Prado…

No reason I can think of as to whether Lilli could move to 2B. But to speculate that the White Sox would be interested in acquiring him to move him to 2B might be a bit much. Only the Braves would have the kind of scouting information that would be needed to make that decision.
I personally think the point is moot, though. The White Sox are going to point to ALL the fantastic stats that JS has accrued, not to mention the price of pitching these days, and I feel they’re going to want a lot for this guy. At the very least I would speculate they would want an established ML 2B plus a mid/low level prospect. But the potential acquiring team is going to focus on the opposite end of that spectrum, how frustratingly ineffective Javier can be, and they’ll probably not want to pay that much.
