Greg Norton, Will Ohman and Julian Tavarez filed for free agency on Thursday, the first day that eligible players could officially declare their intentions to test the market.
Three Braves file for free agency
I wouldn't mind having Ohman back, he was a horse for us this year, and probably our best left-handed reliever in several years.

Better Sign Ohman
If we don’t sign Ohman, we lose him with no compensation. This would be Frank Wren’s first bad move – failing to trade him at the deadline, and then losing him for nothing.
Anyway, hope we sign him.
I really doubt we go after Norton or Tavarez.

i’d laugh if we didn’t sign ohman, after not trading him back in july. that would just make me facepalm all over again.
Following the Braves...one long hard drink at a time.

Ohman is a no-brainer
I think Wren should atleast propose an offer to Ohman. Perhaps 3yrs-$11 million?
And while it looks doubtful, I wouldn’t mind seeing Norton resign with us too. I mean the guy, whether yall disagree or not, played a key role off the bench. He’s the only bench player we have that has any pop and it’s not like he didn’t play well because he did.

I don’t know how anyone can disagree anymore. The guy was great off the bench from the day they got him and by the end of the year, the stats proved he was one of the better pinch hitters in the league. The Braves need to bring him back.

Echoing my fellow posters above...
Ohman needs to be retained. Solid guy out of the pen, something we need as much of as possible.

Call me crazy
If the Braves resign Ohman, then we should have ourselves a good bullpen especially if Moylan regains his old form after the TJ surgery.
Gonzo, Soriano and Moylan have already proved how dominant they can be. Add in guys like Ohman and Boyer, both who have experienced success at times and the bullpen can look pretty nasty.

All three of Gonzo, Soriano, and Moylan...
have huge injury questions about them. Depressing, because they’re all excellent pitchers when 100%.

RE-SIGN NORTON
Best pinch hitter we’ve had in years.

Re-sign Norton and Ohman. I don’t really see how what the excuse would be for not getting this done. Both love playing in Atlanta, won’t demand ridiculous contracts, and the Braves have alot of money to spend. The only thing i can see working against Ohman is that he doesn’t fit the Braves business-like attitude. He’s a little off the wall sometimes.

I agree with everyone else
Ohman – worth re-signing
Norton (and his hot wife) – good idea to re-sign, as long as he remains the dependable pinch-hitter
Dhalsim – lol, good riddance
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
