Say What? A Comeback Win?!?

I can't freaking believe it! I was so down in the dumps at work this afternoon because the Braves were losing like little girls to the Phillies. So I just stopped checking the score and closed my MLB game cast, which crashes my computer every 10 minutes anyway. Then I decided to check out the score and WHAT! We won the freaking game with a freaking comeback, A THREE RUN COMEBACK, in the ninth inning. Of all days to have an off-day tomorrow, we could really use that momentum. Of course, perhaps that momentum will carry through to the next series - one against the Nats, one that we should win.

But wow, we came from six runs down. A rally which started in the eighth inning with four runs, and concluded in the ninth. The rally in the ninth started with two out... freaking amazing.

I know!
It was freaking awesome! Of course I'm always pulling for my Braves to win, but I really thought we were done. I could not believe that rally... Now if we can just keep playing like that!

Me too
came home from school. In the eighth, 8-2. I turned it on, and just listened. Thought about other shows, but somethin told me to keep it there. And the next thing I know, Diaz hits the game winning hit, and I'm like wuh wuh? Who? How? OK! YEAH!

Maybe...
...this will be the start of something special for the rest of the month.

As the late great John (Bluto) Belshi once said,

"Nothing is over until we decide it is!
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
Hell no!"

Toga!Toga!

Let's Go Braves!

i cant believe it
OF ALL THE GAMES TO MISS!!! Die hard fan, hardly ever miss a game at least on the radio, and damn, didnt even think to CHECK the starting time b/c i'm so fed up.

Its like that scene in Fever Pitch when he says he doesnt care, and the BoSox end up coming back a million runs in the bottom of the ninth for the "BEST GAME EVER!!!"

McCann's ankle
From the AP...

"ATLANTA: C Brian McCann is hurting again. He tweaked his left ankle while running the bases in the eighth inning and had to leave the game. McCann has struggled with ankle problems since last season, when he was injured in a home-plate collision at Arizona. After coming out this time, he was taken to his car in a golf cart. The Braves listed him as day to day, and McCann has some extra time to recover. Atlanta is off Thursday before starting a weekend series against Washington."

Awwww, get well soon, Baby.  Stay off the ankle today, okay?

what a win!
We've all seen this team come so close to winning these types of game, only to come a run short. I was just sitting at my desk at work with my arms folded thinking "here comes the popup"(Which Kelly did in the 8th).  Then after they loaded the bases in the 9th for Diaz, i just put my head on my desk waiting for the 3rd out, and it never came! So refreshing!

How dare they give us hope....

WOW!
I forgot about the day game yesterday too but it wouldn't have mattered, I'd have turned it off in disgust by the time it was 8-2.

I bet I've watched Diaz's double 15 times this morning on MLBTV and I get chills every time.

We all needed this BAD!

Matt Diaz: Dale Murphy's lovechild?
He's more machine then man... maybe closer to some kind of minor deity.  This guy is CLUTCH.  Every time!  He NEVER ceases to amaze me.  As much as the braves have depressed me lately... I love having this guy on the team, and next season when he is getting all the starts, MLB will KNOW that he is going to be a major star

I still think our season is Deep Six'd, but...
its nice to get a dig in at Philly!  Maybe this'll help torpedo their season too.  Mwhahaha!
