I have no real analysis for the following, since I don't even think the players can tell you why it happens, but nonetheless, here it is.

Insignificant Splits.

I recently read that splits, even those that are conventionally accepted as significant, might be statistical anomolies and should be overlooked. Platoon splits, interestingly enough, are among those. Perhaps home/road splits are as well. That said, it could be the dimensions and location of Turner Field or psychological affects of being at home (the players' homes, not the team's)that are causing this. All in all, I think it's no really reason to worry. If anything, it makes the being the Wild Card entry for the league that can't ever seem to win the All-Star Game that much more appealing.
