Giants
-- vs.
Braves

Game Time: 10:15pm on

I swear to God! You've been in the league 10-plus years and you still can't recognize a slider, so you swing and miss at it every time. Andruw Jones looked like a rookie last night (and for that matter, he has most of the season). I know I should probably be blaming Soriano, or Yates, or one of the other batters lower in the order, but I'm blaming the speed bump in the middle of our order. He is reverting to his early season form of completely being lost at the plate. Ugh!

Oh well, perhaps we can pick on the Giants. I really, really hope that we don't give up ANY homeruns to Barry.

Don't forget to get your picks in before the game for Nok-A-Homa-Win-A-Lotta (click here to learn how to play and to view the leaderboard); the three categories are (1) Attendance, (2) Pick to Click, and (3) Above and Beyond Pick.

How many strikeouts is it going to take? . . .
Why is A Jones still batting clean up? What is it going to take?  Bobby needs to realize that this stiff is not going to turn it around.  We all see it , say it and still he's batting fourth.  I agree he cost us the game and will continue to do so until the off season when we finally say good bye to this overrated stiff.  Scott Boras, good luck.  Moving on to the other stupid moves, Julio is done, Thorman is a big stupid looking, no talent stiff, beginning to resemble aj.  Soriano looks worn out and we are in trouble.  Time to save the season John S.  Help!

by los angeles braves fan on Jul 23, 2007 11:11 AM EDT reply actions

Why must you..
..always insult everyone? Is it too hard to just put down how you feel without name calling and what not? We all get that AJ is under performing, Julio is toast and Thorman isn't a major league firstbaseman. But the way you do it, makes you sound younger than my 11 year old.

Please in the future, be intelligent. Think about things before you hit the post button. I mean you can keep doing what you're doing, it's only going to make you look silly and uninformed.

by Rain Delay on Jul 23, 2007 11:56 AM EDT up reply actions

i've got to be honest...
... i always get a good laugh when someone calls someone else a "stiff." i don't think i've ever used that word in a name-calling context in my entire life, but i need to start. it's got an old-timey feel to it.

other than that, maybe you are being a little harsh on these guys -- for instance, at least thorman gives it all he's got with what little playing opportunities he has left.

i'll admit, however, that it would be a lie to say i've never cursed the braves while watching them on tv. so i can understand the frustrations. hopefully things will start coming together in a better way soon.

by brndn on Jul 23, 2007 12:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah I understand...
..and I can curse them pretty bad myself at times (been watching since the 80's so I've done my fair share). But I don't bring the language and insults here. I just expect intelligent discussion without all the school yard name calling..

..but that's just me.

by Rain Delay on Jul 23, 2007 12:13 PM EDT up reply actions

haha
this is a place where fans can feel free to say whats on their mind. This is what sports is all about. Getting behind something and believing in it to succeed. Sometimes that may spark passionate remarks. There is no need for them to be censored anymore than it already is. If people want to use language as PG as "stupid" and that upsets you, then maybe you need to be looking at the websites your 11 year old goes on.

by MIZIKE74 on Jul 23, 2007 5:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Yes...
..but it tends to get old very very quick. I'm not going to go back and forth with you. Is it too hard to you know have intelligent discussion with out all whining and what not?

I think Gondee runs a fine site, but some of the posters bring it down. I mean if you want to rant and rave like the guy above do it in a diary..that way I can choose to ignore it.

figures
After reading everything you have said recently it is pretty clear that you have not stopped bitching and moaning for a couple days now. but maybe if you had some input about the actual game of baseball  instead of trying to police this website, people would have value in what you say. what do you say? give it a try!

by MIZIKE74 on Jul 23, 2007 6:03 PM EDT up reply actions

two teams, who do you think you are?
How dare you criticize what I have to say, your not the owner, gm, manager or my father.  My 11 year old agrees with me that these guys are stiffs and under performing. I continue to say what I want and if you don't like it, tough.  Grow up and shut up!

Upset...
...I didn't get my picks in on time, considering my AAB was going to be that Edgar and Chipper each score two runs.

But what I'm more upset about is how much ESPN is pumping up the fact that Bonds has hit 8 bombs off Smoltz...yet decline to comment on the fact none have occured since '99.

by Smoltzs Beard on Jul 23, 2007 10:41 PM EDT reply actions

PS...
...Sutcliffe, drunk or sober, is the worst ESPN commentator alive.

Unfortunately..
..we wont hear the end of it until the guy gets 756. And even then the press will carry it on for the rest of the year.
