Frenchy's Dilemma

Kind of a surprising doubleheader, results-wise, but at least we pulled out one win. Sad to see Carlyle going back to the minors after such a great performance, but Boyer looked good. I'm going to the game today, and I'm worried that it'll be more Adventures of the Tired Braves. Frenchy admitted that he was starting to feel tired yesterday, and I might have guessed so, with that baserunning blunder he made in the first game.

Sometimes I wonder what goes on in Frenchy's head . . .

Frenchy: Yay, Salty! Great jo--
Frenchy: /freezes

Frenchy: ((Oh, wait.))
Frenchy: ((Maybe I shouldn't hug him.))
Frenchy: ((What if Heap thinks I'm on his arch nemsis' side?!))
Frenchy: ((But naw, Heap's not like that.))

Salty: /walks back into dugout
Frenchy: /still frozen
Frenchy: ((Though Heap does have that dartboard with Salty's face on it in his bedroom . . .))
Frenchy: ((What's THAT about, anyway?))

Woodward: /inexplicably homers
Crowd: /stunned silence
Crowd: /cheers
Frenchy: /still frozen

Frenchy: ((When I asked him about it, he said that all the rookies have their pictures taped to dartboards, that's it's like some kind of tradition.))
Frenchy: ((But I've never heard of that tradition before.))
Frenchy: ((I mean, I haven't seen Escobar's face on any dartboards. Maybe he's too new.))

Inning: /ends
Andruw: /drags Frenchy out to right field

Frenchy: /still holding his arms up in mid-hug
Frenchy: ((Maybe like, each rookie gets assigned to a veteran who keeps his dartboard?))
Frenchy: ((I wonder who had my dartboard? Maybe Andruw?))

Frenchy: /looks at Andruw suspiciously
Andruw: /smirks

Frenchy: ((What was THAT about? He totally had my dartboard. But we're pals now! So maybe Heap and Salty will be pals soon.))

Inning: /ends
Andruw: /drags Frenchy back to the dugout

Frenchy: ((Yeah, they'll totally be friends. I should totally hug him.))
Frenchy: ((But what if, like, they're all about to be friends, like, soon, but then Heap sees me hugging him and gets all pissed, and I like, ruin it?!))

Terry: /puts a bat in Frenchy's hands
Terry: /shoves him out of the dugout

Frenchy: ((But maybe if I set a good example by being nice to Salty, Heap will like him better.))
Frenchy: ((Man, I'm totally over-thinking this, aren't I?))

Frenchy: /hits ball
Frenchy: /flails around the basepaths

Frenchy: ((Ha ha, what am I doing? I should just hug him! He's my teammate, and he hit a home run!))

Frenchy: /hugs the Marlins' third baseman
Cabrera: /tags
Cabrera: Sorry, Mr. Gandhi, but you're out.

And in case anyone is wondering, yes, I will have at least one stupid Major League II reference in every post. I hope someone caught that one. My brother and I used to watch that movie (and The Sandlot) daily when we were kids. I'm not sure why we always watched the inferior sequel as opposed to the original, but I think it was because the sequel was all they had available for rent at our Kroger.

Nice.
Frenchy "flails around the basepaths" is a pretty accurate description.
