Excuse Me! All-You-Can-Eat!

I was perusing the Braves homepage this morning and came upon something that absolutely made my eyes just about pop out of my head.  The Braves, in what can only be described as a long overdue homage to gluttony, have introduced "All-You-Can-Eat Seats." All the hotdogs and soda and nachos and peanuts and popcorn one could possibly eat for only $25. And if you want a Lexus level seat it's $60, and adds BBQ sandwiches, chicken wings, and Budweiser to the menu. Now, before we go any further, let me say that I am in no way affiliated with the Braves and they have in no way asked me to plug this. The simple truth of it is, how do you not plug all-you-can-eat, and all-you-can-drink tickets at the ballpark.

An upper deck ticket is $6, plus $5 for a hotdog, plus $4 for a coke, plus $6 for nachos, plus another hotdog for $5, and we're already at $25. But what if you and a group of several friends got regular $6 seats plus one $25 all-you-can-eat ticket? Ahh, then you could have a runner or two to get food for the whole group - now we're really talking savings.

Let's go back for a moment to the Lexus level seats - $60 for the package, where a normal ticket there is around $30. That leaves $30 to spend on food and booze. Beers are normally around $7, so four beers during the game and you've gotten your money's worth, not to mention getting your drunk on. Add in some tasty BBQ or some wings, maybe a hotdog for desert, and oh hells yeah that's a good deal. Besides, don't most people drink around 4 beers a game anyway?

All-you-want beer and hotdogs... this may possibly be one of their greatest ideas. Here is the link.

I haven't posted in awhile, I've been a bit busy.  But I have to comment on this one.  That is one hell of a deal, I'm pretty sure I would have not problem drinking 5+ beers in 7 innings.

Also, there has to be a way for them to tell if you are just taking your food back to your friends.  Otherwise, they are going to get eaten out of business.

hmm
I think they won't care if you're bringing food for you friends. They're already making a profit by selling you a $60 ticket. The seat is usually $30.

Now, you have $30 left for food. In the real world outside the ballpark, $30 will feed you for 2 days. So you'd have to take 2 days worth of food back to your friends for it to be a loss.

Would have been nice ...
... last Saturday. The heat was awful My wife and I took our Mom's to the game and we were not well prepared and the $4.50 bottles of water wiped me out.

I know!
Bottled water is expensive! There pizza there is like what now? $7.00 a slice, not a good deal, but a big slice that is!

ha
We should having a Talking Chop field trip.

I don't think I could drink four beers, though . . . I can put away four glasses of wine or maybe even mixed drinks, but beer is too filling. That deal is still tempting, though. I like the Lexus Level a lot.

Velcro, that comment goes right along the lines of the Frenchy is cute comments.   Cracks me up.

Gotta love a lady who enjoys some ball though. Whenever my girlfriend comes to a game she wants to leave in the fricken 5th inning.

How much you wanna bet
this deal has controls on volume and is only available at a small number of stands. For example, I could see you only being able to get one item per visit, and there being only one booth serving. That makes for crazy lines and high opportunity costs (you miss the game waiting in line).

Actually
You can get 4 items per trip, and it is a dedicated food stand that only serves to those patrons (I believe).

miami braves fan
First of all, I live in Miami so I don't see the Braves that often. My local grocery store gives away 2-for-1 bullpen seats all the time. I usually sit right next to the Braves bullpen for $11. Parking is $10. I usually bring a "water bottle" to avoid those expensive beers. If I'm hungry I'll sneak in a burger from a fast food joint.

In the end, I spend about $25 for a Braves game but damn I have to work for it.
