Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

Open Thread and Noc-A-Homa-Win-A-Lotta: Mets at Braves (4/8): Rubber Game

 Today's Starting Pitchers

 K. Davies
Braves
vs.
 O. Hernandez
Mets
-- W-L 1-0
-- ERA 1.29
-- SO 0
-- BB 2
-- HR 1
vs.
Mets
-- vs.
Braves
The Braves are all about winning series, and if we can take today's game then we take a huge step forward in solidifying the renewed mission behind this season - winning series and winning back the division. Baseball is a game in which losing is inevitable and must be weathered, but if we can temper that losing then we shall WINNNN!!!

Heck, I just want Kyle Davies to have a great game. It's going to be tough with the weather and the toughest team in the league in town, but we will see Kyle under the most extreme of circumstances today and I, for one, would like him to make Mark Redman a relic of our rotation. Kyle, let's prove you belong in the Biggs!

Don't forget to get your picks in before the game for Nok-A-Homa-Win-A-Lotta (click here to learn how to play); the three categories are (1) Attendance, (2) Pick to Click, and (3) Above and Beyond Pick.

Hampton
I hate to be "Debbie Downer" during this great game, but has anyone heard the report about Hampton's bullpen session today?  ESPN.com has a report stating that he will get his elbow checked out in NY tomorrow morning due to continued discomfort.

by Dkam on Apr 8, 2007 3:56 PM EDT reply actions

yes I heard that
but the way that Davies pitched today, I say let him stay in the bigs and bring Cormier in to fill in the rotation

NAHWAL results for game 6
The attendance was a paltry 24,832, and stu gets the point with a guess of 44,113.

The picks to click for the game as chosen by me are of course Kyle Davies who pitched great! Jeff Francoeur with his great at-bat to drive in the winning run and Kelly Johnson with a homerun and a walk are the other two. Apologies to Brian McCann and Bob Wickman. A point each goes to SJsftb27, secondbass, RehabReject, and mccannfan.

No one got the AAB pick.

Oop
I meant to post my picks this morning before I left for the ballpark, but I slept in too late!  I would have guessed 31,000 for attendance.  Oh well.

There weren't a lot of people there, mostly because it was easter and because it was still REALLY cold.  My seats were in the shade and it was pretty brutal.  Where did spring go?

by subwindow on Apr 8, 2007 6:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Stephen..
picked that McCann would score the winning run. Didn't it count as the winning run when Frenchy drove him in ?

Thanks for the help
Matt--Thanks for your attention to my pick.  I had already gone to bed (I managed to go to bed right before the 8th!) and I did not realize the Pena had been employed as a pinch runner.

Anyway, I am just happy that we are off to a great start!
