K-Rod

Not sure how far this has gotten out yet.  I am a little skeptical, but who knows what will happen if MLB looks into it.  Who is to say what happened for sure, all I have to say is that there is no place in baseball for cheating and cheaters - weather it be doctoring the ball or taking performance enhancing drugs.

This guy IS trying to sell his book, which oddly (or not) enough is about cheating in baseball. Usually if something is that pronounced then the opposing manager or coaches pick it up and points it out to the umpire, and I can't imaging Art Howe, who is the bench coach, not pointing that out - if for no other reason than to throw off the rhythm of the opposing pitcher.

They mention white stuff under the bill of his cap, but that could be rosin, and K-Rod might prefer to keep some there so he doesn't have to walk to the back of the mound and bend over between every pitch. When a pitcher is sweating he may need the rosin to get a feel for the ball. The rosin could also get gunky from the sweat and appear to be more of a substance.

I wouldn't pass judgment just yet.

Rangers
According to Keith Law (espn.com), the Rangers officially complained to the comissioner's office.

Eh
I'm all for cheating that affects the equipment. Spitballs, corked bats, stealing signs. These are things that have made baseball unique compared to other sports over the years. I can imagine michael jordan spitting on a basketball to get a competitive edge. I'm not saying every player should go out there and do this, but for the one or two that get caught each year? So what? Sneakiness is fun :-)
