I had a good time walking around the Braves minor league fields today, and I was able to catch interviews with Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Kala Ka'aihue, and Eric Campbell. Obviously, I'm a bit behind in transcribing the interviews, but they should be up within a few days. Don't forget I've also got to post the interviews with Boyer, McBride, Cormier, and Corky.
Remember to check out my interview with Rickey Henderson over at Baseball Digest Daily.
I was traveling with a friend today and his six year old son, and both of them came to the minor league complex. They were able to get week-long tickets; I think a one day ticket was something like $19, but week long ones were $37. Seems a bit pricey, but that's Disney for you.
The fans here really have amazing access to all the minor league players. Apparently it's still a pretty well kept secret because there were only about a half dozen fans wondering between the fields looking for autographs. If autographs of Braves minor leaguers is your thing, then a few days at the complex here and you'll get your fill. My friend's son got signatures from about two dozen players. Also, I really didn't need my minor league field pass - really all it's doing is getting me in for free. They changed the rules this year so reporters can't go onto the field and they basically have to stay where the fans are. That's also something to note for you other Braves bloggers who want access to players.
I'm off to Winter Haven tonight to see the D-Rays take on the Indians, and then it's Philly at Detroit in Lakeland tomorrow afternoon. I'll probably get more of these interviews posted tomorrow night if not sooner
