Javy Lopez

Javy's back, and I'm not so sure its a good thing.

To be quite honest, I would rather us go after Damien Miller or someone more defensive like we always do for our backup. But I guess we do have Corky Miller for that as a possibility, but he pretty much an instant out - while Miller of maybe Lieberthal (is he still available) can still hit .250 and I'll settle. Too many questions concerning Javy's health & knee & declining (if ever existing) defense make me a believer that he will make it out of spring training as a backup.

This sounds like another respect signing by the Braves, only Glavine will probably contribute a whole lot more than Javy (Javy's situation seems more like when we resigned Avery to a minor league deal before he called it quits).

I'm admittedly shocked...

that javy lopez's name wasn't mentioned in the mitchell report. anyone else? and on that note, brady anderson? how did he slither out of that one?

Lol that is one good point...

And you also have to understand that is one of the main reasons the Mitchell report is not an end all type report, it just did incorporate every possible steroid take in baseball, since it only had word of mouth from two trainers out of new your, then it did not really result in the true baseball fans thinking these are the only ones who took performance enhancers

That the people listed were not the only ones or even a significant amount of the people that took PED's. The report said it quite a few times so Mitchell wasn't trying to make people believe those were the only ones.

yea

i wouldnt be suprised myself if javy actually took steroidst too. i know the year before his last with atlanta he sucked, be he had bulked up alot that offseason. He lost like 25 pounds and had greater flexibility in his last year which he attributed to that monster final season with atlanta. but that drastic disparity could have been helped by the needle

You're all right...

that the list just touched the surface and didn't list everyone, so who knows about javy. He's actually always had decent power numbers but that last season here... Just an improbable explosion. Who knows... I'm sure more will be revealed about sll of this. For now, let's just watch Clemens bury himself.
