Chris Duffy

From RotoWorld: According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, if Chris Duffy isn't traded "there is a great chance he will open next season" at Triple-A. The newspaper reports that the Pirates' "new management wants to see him demonstrate his health, as well as a consistent level of play ... before giving him another sustained chance in Pittsburgh." A career .269/.328/.361 hitter in 193 games, Duffy could be an attractive low-cost option for teams that need center field help.

Star-divide

Talk about a possible low risk / high return candidate... He hasn't exactly killed the ball in the bigs (314 AB in '06, 241 in '07), but he always hit for average in the minors with good OPS numbers. He can run pretty well and would still be cheap enough to keep around on the bench when Schafer is ready. Thoughts?

We
already have several people who are like him but probably better. He has no power so to be successful in the majors he needs to get on base, and he hasn't shown that skill yet. He also hasn't shown the skill to actually hit yet either. I'd rather toss Schafer out there, or blanco, or even loadenthal, or brandon jones, or josh anderson, or randy moss.

I wouldn't go that far
I would take Duffy over Brandon Jones (can't play CF defensively), Anderson (same type of player but not as good), Schafer (not ready, don't rush him it'll hurt his development) and Loadenthal (not a MLB player).
