Starting Pitcher
We all know JS is going to pull Santana out of Minnesota:(, but after him, who do you all think would be a good fit for that #3-4 spot?
Snell
Gorzo
Lowry
Prior lite or Harden if you will
Blanton
E Santana
That's off the top of my head. There is a real dearth of pitching in MLB!! JS is going to have to be ultra creative this winter.

He won't get Santana: Predictions
Huddy
Blanton
Glavine
James
*Hampton
*Hampton will be the 6th starter, however, mostly pitching from the pen, and getting close to around 15 starts. This will allow him to make his arm stronger, and once Glavine retires, he will return full time to the rotation.

Glavine
- Cheap - A good cheap innings eater that would most likely cost the Braves around 6 or 7 million. I think Glavine wants to play one more season for the Braves and retire and I think he would do it for about 10 million a year and feel like he is giving Atlanta a discount and making what he should be worth. With the Mets picking up 3 of that throw him 7 and see what he says - at least if he rejects that you can say you tried and Tommy is the same old Tommy. But 7 million is a an awesome deal for a starter who is going to give 3 run ball most nights and pitch over 200 innings - just think Dotel will leave Atlanta to get 5 million or more next season.
- Make the Mets a worse team - Even if the Mets go and get Curt Schilling they are actually going to pay closer to 15 or 18 million for him because of the Glavine buyout option. There rotation will be shaky at best and t hey don't have an unlimited budget and still have a ton of work to do in their pen - I think by not being able to resign Glavine it means the Mets will field a worse team next year because they give out stupid contracts (glad JS sticks to his guns and doesn't). Paying a player to reject a contract is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard of how many of you wish you employers would do that for you!
- Finally, Great for the Atlanta Braves clubhouse, having Glavine in the rotation behind Huddy and Smoltz is going to make both those guys relax and pitch better. Smoltz is going to be nostalgic about having his golfing buddy back and not matter what tudies people have done these intangibles to make a difference. Plus Smoltz can make one more run at World Series, retire take Tom Glavine with him and give the rotation to Hudson and leave JS or whoever about 20 million to sign a stud (when does Ben Sheets reach free agency) Glavine takes tons of pressure of the developing James, Reyes, and whoever else by letting them develop at a the major league level at the 4 or 5 slot where James made most of his gains anyway. Plus I can see Frenchy and McCann now running around the clubhouse talking about the good days with Glavine back!
- Sign Glavine - 7 million gets it done
- Sign a CF (Cameron or Roberts) prefer Roberts
- Trade Rents (we'll miss him) for a young top or the rotation guy.

Goals.
- Glavine at no more than $6.5M is fine.
- Do NOT waste money and tie up years with a new CF. Either get a good one via trade or hand it over to Gregor Blanco.
- How does Rents, Reyes, Paronto and Yates for Javier Vazquez and $4.5M sound?
