The Baseball Writers Association of America's Rookie of the Year awards were announce toady, with the top three vote getters in each league following almost precisely what the SportsBlogs Nation voting results were.
In the AL, Justin Verlander came away with the award with Jonathan Papelbon and Francisco Liriano coming in second and third. Papelbon and Liriano tied for second in the SBN voting.
In the NL, Hanley Ramirez barely edged out Ryan Zimmerman for the award, just as he did in the SBN results. Dan Uggla and Josh Johnson also came in third and fourth respectively in both polls.
It will certainly be interesting to see if the other awards follow the results from the SBN voting so closely.
