Are the Braves for Sale?
Please, please be true! According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, "The company (Time Warner) acknowledged Tuesday it has put a for-sale sign on Atlanta's major league baseball team as well as the Turner South regional cable network."
Apparently Time Warner is looking to package the Braves together with Turner South in order to make the deal more attractive. The talks have just begun, but how nice would it be to be able to shed the $80 million self-imposed salary cap?
This should be an interesting story to follow.

"But the real reason that the team is up for sale centers on the lower-profile piece of the puzzle: regional network Turner South, which carries dozens of Braves games a year. ...."

Of course, I don't care what the real reason for the sale might be. I just want to see an ownership willing to spend a bit more.
